5 minute ice cream experiment

We have had a go at making 5 minute ice cream today. We needed half a cup of single cream, 1 tablespoon of sugar, strawberry flavouring and red food colouring. You mix all these ingredients together in a food bag. Then you need a bag of ice cubes and 6 tablespoons of salt. Put the salt into the bag of ice cubes and then place the bag of ice cream mix into the ice cubes and wait 5 minutes. It’s almost like magic when you take the bag out because the runny cream turns into ice cream. Here are a few comments the children made after tasting time.
Abigael: it was tasty
Ushna: it was yummy
Kerry: it was very cold
Nevaeh: it tastes of strawberry
Harrison: it went pink
Mrs Crowder: the colour stayed the same when it was runny and when it became frozen
Kali-Anne: the ice wasn’t the same, it melted.
